The Israeli Strike on Gaza School
The civil defense of Gaza announced on Saturday, August 3rd, that an Israeli strike on a school complex in the city of Gaza resulted in ten fatalities and several injuries. The army claimed that the complex was being used as a “hideout for Hamas terrorists.”
Official Statements
Mahmoud Bassal, the spokesperson for the civil defense of Gaza, mentioned in a statement the casualties from the Israeli bombing on the Hamama school in Gaza, where war-displaced individuals sought shelter. The Israeli army, on the other hand, stated that they targeted terrorists operating in a Hamas command and control center previously known as the Hamama school in northern Gaza.
Escalating Conflict
The conflict between Israel and Palestinian Hamas in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has led to over 39,550 deaths in the Palestinian enclave, according to data from the Gaza government’s Ministry of Health. The Hamas attack in southern Israel resulted in the deaths of 1,197 individuals, mostly civilians.
