Les établissements culturels, tels que le Musée du Louvre et le Grand Palais, affectés de manière indirecte par un logiciel de rançon

Attack on Le Grand Palais and Museums in France

Le Grand Palais and around forty museums in France, including the Louvre, were targeted in a ransomware attack over the weekend. Cybercriminals aimed at the system handling the financial data of shops within these museums, demanding a ransom for the information. Failure to pay could result in the exposure of this data, a typical approach of criminal groups using ransomware.

Response and Investigation

The French National Cybersecurity Agency has acknowledged the incident and assured that it has not affected systems related to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Le Grand Palais confirmed the cyberattack without providing further details. An investigation has been launched and is being handled by the Cybercrime Fighting Brigade of the Parisian judicial police.
