Amazon forme une alliance avec TikTok et Pinterest

Amazon’s Partnership with TikTok and Pinterest

According to reports from The Information and Bloomberg on August 8th, American company Amazon has formed partnerships with social media platforms TikTok and Pinterest. This collaboration allows users to make purchases directly from Amazon without leaving the TikTok and Pinterest applications. To enable this feature, users simply need to link their accounts.

Shopping Integration on TikTok

TikTok explained in a blog post that users will see Amazon product recommendations as ads in their “For You” feed. This section of the app presents users with personalized content based on their interests, providing them with a seamless shopping experience directly within the application.

Amazon’s Strategy for Growth

Amazon’s spokesperson mentioned that the goal is to enhance user experience while also tapping into the growing trend of social commerce. By partnering with popular social networks like TikTok and Pinterest, Amazon is seeking new avenues for growth, particularly as its online sales growth slows down. The practice of shopping on social media, often referred to as “social shopping” or “community shopping,” is gaining momentum.

Global Expansion and Future Plans

While Amazon has previously struck similar deals with platforms like Meta (Instagram, Facebook) and Snap (Snapchat), it remains unclear if the new functionality with TikTok will be available worldwide. ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, has not provided details on the potential global rollout of this feature. As of now, there is no response from TikTok to inquiries from The Monde.
