Engagement Between Rioters and Security Forces

During an operation to clear a bridge in Thio, a gendarme was injured by a thrown stone to his face. Subsequently, the gendarmes came under attack and were subjected to several gunshots, according to the prosecutor, Yves Dupas. In response, several shots were fired back, resulting in the injury of two rioters, one of whom died while being transferred to the hospital.
