The Kamala Harris team claims to have raised over half a billion dollars since the start of her presidential campaign.

Kamala Harris’s Record-Breaking Fundraising Efforts

The team of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris announced on August 25 that they had raised over half a billion dollars since the beginning of her campaign a month ago. This surpasses the amount held by her Republican rival, Donald Trump, who had disclosed having around 327 million dollars available for the upcoming American election.

Impressive Results and Support

Harris, who only joined the White House race on July 21, replacing Joe Biden, was officially endorsed this week in Chicago during a spirited Democratic convention. The campaign’s director, Jen O’Malley Dillon, shared the exciting news that they had surpassed the 500 million dollar mark just before Harris’s speech. The total now stands at 540 million dollars, marking a record-breaking fundraising effort for any campaign in history.

Significance of Grassroots Support

The note emphasized the significance of small donors, revealing that a third of the donations received during the Democratic convention week were from first-time contributors. This positive momentum was evident following Joe Biden’s endorsement of Harris, with Democrats raising 81 million dollars within 24 hours. This stark turnaround came after a challenging period for the Democrats in early July, following Biden’s lackluster debate performance against Trump.
