Rapper Koba LaD, involved in a fatal accident in Créteil on Tuesday night, was under the influence of drugs at the time, as confirmed by the Créteil prosecutor’s office on Thursday, September 12. Despite being hospitalized, the artist who was driving during the accident that claimed the life of one of his passengers had not been placed in custody yet. An investigation for involuntary manslaughter by the driver and involuntary injuries by the driver has been initiated by the prosecutor.

Details of the Accident

The 24-year-old rapper from Essonne was driving a luxury sports sedan when the vehicle, traveling at high speed, collided with a parked lorry on an exit ramp of a gas station on the A86 highway. The front-seat passenger, born in 1994, tragically lost their life while the rear passenger, born in 1999, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the lorry was also slightly injured, contrary to initial reports suggesting he was unharmed.

Prior Legal Issues for Koba LaD

This latest incident adds to Koba LaD’s legal history, as in 2020, he received a suspended sentence of three months in prison and 140 hours of community service for a hit-and-run incident in Marseille. Additionally, he was penalized with a four-month driving suspension through a plea deal for the same offense.
