Arrest of American Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs
American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on Monday, September 16th, by the police in Manhattan. Federal agents arrested him earlier in the evening based on an indictment from the Southern District Court of New York, stated prosecutor Damian Williams.
Allegations of Sexual Assault
Several complaints of sexual assault have been filed against the rapper. The prosecutor clarified that details about the charges would be disclosed on Tuesday morning. Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment with the decision to continue what they believe are unjust prosecutions against his client.
Accusations and Denials
Combs, aged 54, has been accused by multiple alleged victims of being a violent sexual predator who used alcohol and drugs to subdue them. A former adult film actress, Adria English, filed a complaint in early July accusing Combs of using her for the benefit of others during events in New York and Florida between 2004 and 2009.
The rapper faced a total of nine complaints since November 2023. One complaint from his ex-girlfriend “Cassie” Ventura, filed in November, accused him of violent and deviant behavior over a decade. A video from 2016 shows Combs acting aggressively towards Ventura.
Combs has consistently denied the allegations against him and faced violence allegations dating back to the 1990s, with no major convictions ever imposed.
