Live, blasts in Lebanon: total casualties now stand at 37 dead and nearly 3,000 injured

Explosions in Lebanon

A second series of explosions of communication devices occurred in Lebanon on Wednesday, September 18. At least twenty people have died and 450 others have been injured, according to the latest report from the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The explosions took place in various regions including the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, Sidon, and Baalbek. Following an attack attributed to Israel which targeted thousands of pagers throughout the country, this time the explosions involved walkie-talkies owned by Hezbollah members, as reported by sources close to the Lebanese Shiite movement and security sources.
