Tribute to Two Slain Teachers

Following a ceremony in Arras that brought together over two thousand people and several ministers to pay tribute to Dominique Bernard, French teacher killed by a radicalized former student, Michel Barnier is expected to visit the Bois d’Aulne College in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, where Samuel Paty taught. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Minister of Education Anne Genetet in this school deeply marked by the memory of the history-geography teacher murdered by a radicalized Islamist on October 16, 2020. The college is set to be renamed in honor of Samuel Paty.
National Mourning
Michel Barnier emphasized the importance of remembering the two teachers who lost their lives to Islamist terrorists and vowed to protect teachers and combat ignorance and fanaticism. Minister of Education Alexandre Portier paid tribute to the teachers at a high school in Lyon, underscoring the dedication and impact of educators in shaping informed and free-thinking citizens.
