RN Reveals Targets for State Streamlining
The Rassemblement national (RN) has finally revealed its plans for reducing the size of the State by internalizing nearly 80 independent agencies and eliminating some of their missions. This move is seen as a way to achieve immediate cost savings of eight billion euros.
List of Agencies and Missions on the Chopping Block
Among the agencies and missions earmarked for elimination are the Contrôleur général des lieux de privation de liberté, the Commission de régulation de l’énergie, the Commission nationale du débat public, and others. Additionally, various well-known operators such as the water agencies, national parks, and cultural operators are targeted for streamlining.
RN’s Rational Behind the Cuts
RN justifies its decisions based on the significance of the agencies’ missions and their longstanding presence. The party aims to remove obstacles and bureaucracy by consolidating certain missions under the State’s control, with the goal of ensuring efficiency in decision-making processes. The party also suggests that the absorption of some functions could be achieved without increasing the number of civil servants, opting instead for a more manageable workforce of contractual staff.
