Violent Incident on RER E Train
Four people, including two seriously injured, were involved in a violent incident on the RER E train at Ozoir-la-Ferrière station in Seine-et-Marne on Monday, November 4th. According to police sources, the individuals were attacked with bladed weapons during a fight that erupted on the train platform.
Details of the Attack
The altercation, which occurred around 8 a.m., involved multiple assailants wielding knives, a hatchet, a katana, and baseball bats. One victim had their hand severed, while another suffered a head injury from the hatchet. Two other victims sustained minor injuries. All four victims, aged between 16 and 17 and on their way to school, were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Arrest and Investigation
A 16-year-old suspect, who is believed to be the primary perpetrator, was apprehended at his residence and placed in custody. A search of his home led to the discovery of the hatchet used in the assault. Authorities suspect that the incident resulted from a clash between rival groups rather than drug-related activity.
Police Response and Safety Measures
The case has been classified as aggravated assault, and the investigation has been entrusted to the Torcy police station. In response to the incident, security patrols on the RER E line have been reinforced to ensure passenger safety. Despite the violent episode, train services and station operations have not been disrupted.
